As your wedding day approaches, you want to make sure that everything is perfect – including your makeup. That’s where a professional makeup trial comes in. It’s a chance to work with a makeup artist to create a look that complements your features, matches your dress, and fits the overall theme of your wedding. We asked Dominique from Mystique Makeup about what a bride can expect and how to prepare for your makeup trial and here is what she told us:
How to Prepare
The best way to prepare for your bridal trial is to come with a clean face and have any grooming needed done before hand. This could be a fresh eye brow wax or tint, eye lash lift or extensions, face shave, etc. You want to look as close to how you will on your big day to get the full affect! Also have inspiration pictures of makeup looks that you may like. I will bring all of the products to the session. However if brides have certain products that they want to use, we can use those at that time.
What To Expect
During our trial this is the time to discuss the look you want for your big day, what the bridal party looks will be and break down a timeline for the day. We will look at the inspiration pictures and discuss what parts of the look you like, if you have any allergies, any specific wants or needs for the day and then proceed with the trial look. At this time the bride can share what they like about the completed look and if any changes need to be made. If the bride wants makeup for the bridal party we will select a look for the bridal party. We will then discuss the timeline of the day and I will then create an itinerary for how the makeup portion will be performed day of.
