With Mother’s Day right around the corner we thought we would share some ways to include your mother or mother-in-law into your big day (whether you are the bride or groom).
Ask Her Opinion
Simply asking what she thinks is a great way to make your mother/mother-in-law feel included. If you are torn between two types of flowers, ask her opinion. If you are having trouble with family members or your wedding party, ask her what you should do. This is a great way to make her feel important in the planning.
Utilize Her Talents
A nice way to include your mother or mother-in-law is to highlight something that she is good at and use it. If she is a good baker, let her bake something for your big day or festivities. If she likes to embroider, let her stitch something you can use in your decor or favors.
Put Her In Charge of Something
Another way to include your mother is to give her a specific task or tasks to be in charge of. This will be sure to give her more of a purpose besides just being the mother of the bride or groom.
Include A Detail That Is Just For Her
Adding a detail into your wedding that is just for her is a great way to include such an important person in your life. Maybe use her favorite flowers in your decor, or let her dress be in her favorite color.
Schedule Special Time
Spending time with just the two of you during the planning is a great way to stay connected. Plan a special day to shop for her dress or have a ladies brunch to talk about details. Maybe attend a wedding showcase together for inspiration!
Chances are this is a very important time for your mother/mother-in-law, seeing their baby get married. Including them in any part of the planning or event is a great way to make them feel special.
