We spoke with Amber the owner of Simply Southern Occasions and asked her about her business and what sets them apart from other bartending companies. Tell us a little bit about you, and how you got started!
I got started in catering, soon moved to event sales, and then found myself wanting to offer bar service for special events. At the time, there were only staffing companies offering bartenders for special events. I saw a huge need for a company to provide consultation, rentals, drink menu design, and more. I was extremely successful with my bar service in Austin, TX and plan on offering the same to the Nashville area.
What makes your business unique?
We are professional. We show up, set up, breakdown the entire bar area and clean it as if we were never there. Simply Southern Occasions will also help load leftover alcohol, mixers, and/or supplies in a designated personal car.
What is your favorite part of working with couples?
Being able to alleviate that stress they may feel when planning a wedding and/or event. For a lot of clients I speak to, they have never planned a wedding and/or an event so being the expert and helping where I can is very rewarding.
One piece of advice for couples?
Do your research, meet vendors in person. I know personally, it has helped meeting the couples in person to ensure they feel confident going with my service on their big day.
Childhood career aspiration?
Helping people. I didn’t care what I did, as long I was able to help others.
Coffee, tea, wine or champagne? And why?
Coffee, well espresso, it is the start of my day and I can’t go without it. It allows me to slow down, take it in before I deal with the craziness of my day.
Cooking. I love cooking everything from scratch.
