Curtsy Ballroom

Tell us a little bit about your company, and how you got started!

My company is centered around teaching dance, with a particular focus on ballroom and choreographing wedding dances. I began this journey after discovering my passion for ballroom dance during my college years. It has been a way for me to share my love for dance and help others find confidence and joy on the dance floor. During my last competition, a young competitor approached me and asked if I would ever be interested in teaching. Thus, Curtsy Ballroom was born!

What makes your business unique?

I am a proud black and women-owned business! I value inclusion and diversity and believe anyone of any background can dance!

I specialize in choreographing wedding dances, which adds a personal and unique touch to a couple’s special day. What sets my business apart is the combination of diverse dance styles I offer, from classical ballet to the excitement of Latin dances like Salsa and Brazilian Zouk.

What do you enjoy most about working in the wedding industry?

Working in the wedding industry allows me to be a part of one of the most significant and joyous moments in a couple’s life. I enjoy the opportunity to create beautiful and memorable wedding dances that reflect the couple’s love and personalities.

What is your favorite part of working with couples?

My favorite part of working with couples is witnessing their connection and helping them express it through dance. It’s incredibly rewarding to see couples grow closer and more confident as they prepare for their wedding dance. Dance can be a powerful form of self-expression and bonding.

One piece of advice for couples?

My advice for couples preparing for their wedding dance is to relax and enjoy the process. Dancing together can be a wonderful way to connect and have fun during the wedding preparations. Don’t worry too much about perfection; focus on expressing your love and joy through the dance.

Fun facts about me?

I’m fluent in three languages – English, French, and Russian, which has opened up some incredible opportunities to connect with people from all over. On top of that, I have a degree in molecular biology and spent some time in the fascinating world of virology before taking the plunge into the world of dance at Curtsy Ballroom. It’s been quite the journey, from labs to dance studios, and I’m excited to keep sharing my passion for dance with the world!

Whether you’re a soon-to-be bride and groom or you’re just looking to impress on the dance floor at your next special event, Morgan can help you shine with style and grace on your big day.
