“When Stephanie reached out to me about photographing her surprise proposal to her girlfriend Miranda, I his funwas so down! And then she said she was planning to do it with a flash mob – ummmm…..YES. I was so excited and couldn’t wait to play secret agent with her! We set it up to where Miranda thought we were simply doing a couples session while they were visiting Nashville, but it ended up being so much more than that! The plan was to arrive on the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge by a certain time – because “the light is just so perfect at 5:30!” (I mean it really is, but that wasn’t the point in this case.) As we walked up the bridge, we were “surprised” with what looked like a flash mob! We watched them for a second, and I said something along the lines of “you never know what you might stumble upon in Nashville!” Then Stephanie ran and jumped in and started dancing. Seeing the look of confusion on Miranda’s face blossom into a realization of what Stephanie was doing was SO amazing to see! I couldn’t stop smiling as I photographed the whole thing, their love and joy was contagious!
Afterwards we wandered around to some of my favorite spots to capture all the good and happy energy between them. It was such a treat to photograph their love, and the beginning of this chapter in their lives together!”
