Start Early

The key to achieving radiant skin is consistency and patience. Begin your bridal skincare regimen at least six months before your wedding day to allow time for your skin to adapt to new products and treatments.

Know Your Skin Type

Understanding your skin type is essential for selecting the right skincare products. Whether you have oily, dry, combination, or sensitive skin, tailor your regimen to address your needs.

From Caitlin, Owner of Braids & Blush: I had the pleasure of being Jessica’s makeup artist for her March wedding. The photo on the left is from her trial session, three weeks before her big day, and the one on the right captures her radiant look on her wedding day. Following the trial, I provided Jessica with a personalized skincare routine, which she followed diligently. The transformation in her skin is remarkable—on her wedding day, it appeared noticeably smoother, plumper, and more hydrated. Jessica’s dedication truly paid off, and I’m delighted with how her makeup complemented her natural beauty on her special day.
Cleanse and Exfoliate

Cleanse your skin twice daily to remove dirt, oil, and impurities that can clog pores and lead to breakouts. Incorporate exfoliation into your routine 2-3 times a week to slough off dead skin cells and reveal a smoother complexion.

Hydration is Key

Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out. Use a moisturizer suited to your skin type to lock in moisture and prevent dryness.

Target Skin Concerns

If you have specific skin concerns such as acne, hyperpigmentation, or fine lines, incorporate targeted treatments into your skincare routine. Ingredients like salicylic acid, vitamin C, and retinol can help address these issues and improve skin texture.

Protect Your Skin

Wear sunscreen daily, even on cloudy days, to shield your skin from harmful UV rays. Sun protection prevents premature aging and maintains healthy, youthful-looking skin.

From Dominique owner of Mystique Makeup I had the honor of being Evelyn’s makeup artist for her January wedding. She was a dream bride and I loved working with her and her bridal party.
Treat Yourself to Facials

Schedule regular facials with a licensed esthetician to pamper your skin and address any concerns. Professional treatments like chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and LED therapy can enhance your skin’s radiance and clarity.

Caitlin with Braids & Blush also suggests asking for dermaplaning with your last facial and having any facial treatments or waxing 3-4 days before the wedding.

From Caitlin, owner of Braids & Blush: This is Amy, one of my brides who got married in April. She wanted to focus on her skin being the star of the show but also making her eyes pop. She wanted her makeup to be slightly on the minimal side, and to have her skin glowing as much as possible. Leading up to the wedding day, she made sure to perfect her skincare routine and get facials regularly. Because of all her hard work and preparation, we were able to pull off the most beautiful look that highlighted her skin exactly how she imagined. Her skin had the perfect amount of glow and looked flawless. The pink tones we chose throughout the look helped her blue eyes pop while keeping the products to a minimum. This look could not have turned out any better, and it will always be one of my favorites!
Don’t Forget About Your Neck and Décolletage

Your skincare routine shouldn’t stop at your jawline. Extend your products to your neck and chest area to ensure a seamless transition and prevent signs of aging.

Get Plenty of Rest

Adequate sleep is essential for skin health and well-being. Aim for 7-8 hours of quality sleep each night to allow your skin time to repair and rejuvenate.

Practice Self-Care

Wedding planning can be stressful, but prioritizing self-care is essential to maintain mental and emotional well-being. Incorporate relaxation techniques such as meditation, yoga, or massage to reduce stress and promote healthy skin.
