Mindy and Matt’s wedding was a stunning celebration that captured the essence of Old Hollywood Glam. Held on February 3, 2024, at the historic Cleveland Old Courthouse, the sophisticated black-tie setting exuded timeless elegance and luxury from start to finish. The opulent venue, with its grand columns, soaring ceilings, and draped fabric, created a breathtaking atmosphere that echoed the grandeur of a bygone era. Their wedding party matched the refined setting perfectly, with the bridesmaids in rich emerald velvet gowns and the groomsmen in sleek tuxedos, complementing the old-world charm and sophisticated tone of the evening.
The reception was equally enchanting, with luxurious centerpieces featuring towering arrangements of white florals and shimmering table settings. Soft, romantic lighting added warmth to the space, enhancing the grandeur of the courthouse’s stunning architecture. To ensure the night was lively and unforgettable, the couple enlisted The Music City Sound, whose performance had guests dancing all night long, adding a modern twist to their vintage-inspired celebration.
Their Love Story
Mindy and Matt were best friends for 15 years before it turned into romance. It worked out better than either of them could have ever imagined! The couple worked together, so they were together every day and never got tired of each other.
Their Engagement
Their engagement story is also straight out of a fairytale! They got engaged in one of the most romantic places in the world, Paris! Matt proposed under the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower in the city of love, it couldn’t have been more perfect!
The Dress
My dress was quite the experience. I searched all over Ohio and Pennsylvania and could not find “The One”. I then decided I was going to New York. I had made appointments at Berta, Monique Lhuillier, Vera Wang, Wona, Kleinfeld, and a few others. I liked a lot of them but still couldn’t find that one “over the top” look that I was searching for. That was until I went to Kleinfeld. I love everything over the top and bling, so of course, I wanted to see several dresses by the queen of bling herself, Pnina Torni. I instantly fell in love with 2 or 3 of her dresses. I was lucky enough to have had Ronnie, the owner, at my try-on. He had a lightbulb go off and asked me if I was able to fly back later in the week as Pnina would be there, and he thought that we would be able to come up with something spectacular! Of course, I agreed and flew back later that week. It was then that I met the most amazing woman, Pnina Torni. She completely got my vision, and together, we came up with my masterpiece. It was a custom Pnina Torni dress with a detachable train that was over the top covered in real hand-sewn crystals from top to bottom. It was everything and more that I had ever dreamed of for walking down the aisle. Well worth the 10-plus trips I had to make back and forth for fittings and dress design. She and her team were absolutely a dream come true.
The Wedding Vision
The wedding vision that Mindy had for their big day was Black Tie and Old Hollywood Glam, and it was executed perfectly! They decided on a perfect day in February because there aren’t many holidays around that time, and it would give their guests something to look forward to. She wanted all the ladies in long, formal dresses and men in tuxedos. She knew it would be great for the ladies since it was probably one of the only times they would get to wear the sparkly, over-the-top gowns that you see somewhere but don’t know where to wear it. This was the perfect occasion! The guests all LOVED getting so dressed up, and everyone looked AMAZING!
The colors that Mindy chose fit the winter vibe seamlessly. She went with black, white, green, and gold, with the bridesmaids in hunter-green velvet gowns.
The Wedding
The wedding was set at the Cleveland Old Courthouse, an original building and gorgeous venue. The bridal party all got ready together in the penthouse suite at the Hilton across the street from the venue, which was such a fun time! We loved the sweet first look between the couple before the ceremony. This was all done by rolling Mindy across the street and through the underground tunnel that connected the two buildings on a luggage cart because the dress was so large. Innovative!
We’ll let Mindy tell you in her own words about the rest of their special day!
The decor and everything was just perfect. My husband is Jewish, so we did have the breaking of the glasses before exiting. We then proceeded upstairs for cocktail hour equipped with a champagne tower, passed appetizers, an open bar, and a live 4-piece quartet. We then proceeded downstairs for dinner. The guests were seated as we entered and went into our first dance by Spotlight to Taylor Swift’s “Lover”. We did cake cutting and then ate dinner as the best man and our daughters gave the most unforgettable speech. We kept the bar open at all times, as we never wanted the party to stop. We had a 3-in-1 bar with ten bartenders wrapped around the whole side, so no one ever went without a drink. We then went right into dancing the night away.
The Music City Sound put on by far the MOST AMAZING SHOW EVER. People are still talking about this band. I was apprehensive about spending the money, but once it happened, I would have paid double. I cannot tell you how many times I heard, “This is by far the best band I have EVER heard at a wedding!” My husband and I LOVE Nashville and visit frequently. My signature drink was the spicy jalapeno strawberry margarita with tajin rim from Blanco Cantina on Broadway! We searched high and low and decided to bring Music City Sound up for the wedding. If I could give them 1000 stars, I would.
