We asked Benita of Living Ceremonies what are the most important things that you can provide to your officiant before your big day to make sure that your ceremony is perfect, and here’s what she had to say!

It’s your wedding day!!! You’ve been planning it for months and maybe years but now it is here. You are marrying the person of your dreams in the presence of family and friends. And now the most important part of the day begins. Your wedding ceremony. It is the highlight of the day but for that to happen there are a few things your wedding officiant will need. When you hire an officiant, you may have lots of questions to ask, but your officiant will have questions for you as well.

Here are some things to provide your officiant to make sure that your wedding ceremony is executed well.

How you met?

When you knew were in love.

How you get engaged.

What type of ceremony?

Are there any traditions you want to include?

Are you being escorted down the aisle?

If you are writing your own vows the officiant should have a copy.

Name and contact information of other vendors.

Names of bridal party.

Names of parents of the couple.

Music selection for the ceremony.

Names of any speakers during the ceremony

Current marriage license.

If they want the officiant to be present at the rehearsal.

The wedding officiant does not just show up on the day of the wedding, a professional wedding officiant is fully present through the entire process. From the initial inquiry until the pronouncement Living Ceremonies will be there to support each couple. We strive to make your wedding ceremony memorable, meaningful and marvelous.
