The Waschlager Wedding was a beautiful event held at The Monroe in McMinnville, TN in January 2024. A friend of mine in the wedding industry requested I do the makeup for the wedding. However, this wedding was a little different than most. The event was scheduled right in the middle of a fierce snowstorm that had hit Tennessee, leaving the roads icy and treacherous. It was uncertain whether the wedding would even happen—after all, these conditions were far from ideal for travel. But despite the icy terrain and the weather challenges, we made the trek up the hill to the venue, determined to make it all work. And work it did! Everything turned out beautifully, with every detail falling into place despite the winter storm.

Bridal Party Makeup: Soft and Natural

The bride had a clear vision for the beauty looks of her bridal party. For the bridesmaids and the mother of the groom, she requested simple, natural styles, accentuated by soft mauve lips. To create their makeup looks, I focused on using warm tones in the crease of their eyelids, which provided a beautiful depth, and I applied shimmery champagne colors on the lids to give a subtle glow. To add dimension to their faces, I lightly contoured their features for a fresh and polished appearance.

The Bride’s Bold and Beautiful Look

As for the bride herself, since her favorite color is pink, she desired a more dramatic look with pink and glittery eyes. I blended various shades of pink, incorporating glitter to create a fun and festive sparkle that really stood out. I paired this with mauve lips and carefully applied full lashes to enhance her eyes, ensuring they looked stunning. Together, we achieved a cohesive and beautiful look that complemented her vision perfectly!
