Tell us a little bit about Braids & Blush and how you got started!
I started getting my hours for my license in 2015, and from there I knew that I wanted to pursue bridal hair and makeup. After I graduated from Tennessee School of Beauty in 2018, I started working at a salon where I was able to book weddings. In 2020, my husband received orders to be stationed in Hawaii, and we were there for almost four years. While living there, I worked for an amazing company that provided hair and makeup services for weddings and special events. I was able to be a part of nearly 800 weddings while being a part of that team. That experience really made me fall in love with the industry even more. Once we decided we were going to move to the Nashville area, I knew that I wanted to create my own brand while continuing to be a part of the wedding industry. I officially launched my brand on August 4th, 2023, and have been loving every minute of it!
What makes Braids & Blush Unique?
I believe my experience is something most artists in the Nashville area do not share. I make it my mission to carry the best products, have as much knowledge as possible, and make my clients feel like superstars! Nothing is better than helping someone gain confidence in themselves, and be the reason they feel beautiful on their wedding day.
One piece of advice for couples?
If I had to give one piece of advice to couples that are getting married.. for wedding planning, it would be to book your preferred vendors as soon as you have a venue and day booked. So many people are starting to book their vendors far in advance, and I’d hate for someone to miss out on their first picks because they waited until closer to their wedding date to book. As far as relationship advice, it would be that sometimes it’s okay to go to bed angry. Sometimes you really need to think things through and spend time calming down. This way you won’t accidentally say things you don’t mean, or say things out of anger. You can’t take back words you say in an argument, and those words can stick with you for a lifetime. In my opinion, it’s best not to risk it.
