The Deets on Country Artist Erin Alvey’s Bridal Glam

REHEARSAL DINNER GLAM & OUTFIT DEETS

“For Erin’s Hair, We did a High Pony with tons of volume & texture!

To achieve this look, I used my Babyliss Curling Iron and did beach waves in alternating patterns all over Erin’s head.

We then used her Bellami clip in extensions, which we also curled in the same pattern, clipped in vertically where we wanted the pony to sit, rather than horizontally. This allows the ponytail to go up without showing the extensions or making them hard to hide! Since Erin already has amazing hair, this was more for volume than for length.

After we secured the ponytail up (I always prefer to use actual pony tail holders, rather than a plastic one because they are much more secure!), we wrapped the hair around the hair tie to conceal it and give it a really glamorous look.

I then used the AIIR Texturizing Spray & the IGK No Limit Thickening Spray, along with a wide tooth teasing comb to back comb, texturize, and give a lot of volume and body to the hair. We finished off the look by piecing out the base of the pony tail and pulling some pieces out in the front to give it a fun, sexy undone look!

DAY OF WEDDING GLAM & DETAILS

“Erin is the perfect example of a bride where we did a completely different look on the trial vs. the wedding day!

On Erin’s trial, we went really clean, Kim K Wedding day vibes per my recommendation – This came from Erin’s dress, how she described her venue, etc. – And we loved it! But one important thing to note is that Erin loves textured, undone hair & curls, so although the style we tried out at her trial was super gorgeous, it wasn’t “her”. THIS IS MAJOR – You can have the best stylist in the world, but if you can’t do something that feels like you, you’re not going to fall in love.

The day of the wedding, we went with a textured half pony with tons of volume and loose undone curls and pieces down. We actually went through a few different styles before we landed on this, and Erin had a lot of input as to what she wanted, and how we could change it to land on her perfect “wedding day hair”.

I cannot emphasize enough that nailing it on the trial isn’t necessarily the most important thing – It’s all about trusting your stylist/artist and providing honest feedback so you can work together!

Erin finished off the look with her beautiful custom Winnie Couture dress, and we used the Fenty body glow all over her chest & décolleté for a flawless look.
