Tell us a little bit about you, and how you got started!
My name is Jenn McDonald and I am a wife to an amazing man and mom to the most awesome twins. I got started in the wedding planning business by planning my own wedding. Over the years, many of my friends and co-workers have enlisted my help with weddings and parties. The organization and planning part have come naturally to me, so I decided to launch Simply Southern Events LLC in January of 2023.
Simply Southern Events LLC can provide wedding design, wedding planning, coordinating, notary services, and many rental items. We offer a variety of services to our clients.
What do you enjoy most about working in the wedding industry?
I love seeing the smiles on the couple’s faces when they walk back towards me after the ceremony is complete. The love that shows on their face is exciting and infectious. I love watching them start their new lives together and being a small part in it.
What is your favorite part of working with couples?
The wedding day! This is when all the planning and prepping pay off. I love making their perfect wedding vision come to life.
One piece of advice for couples?
Determine your guest count and create a solid budget. There are places out there for every budget and every couple.
Childhood career aspiration?
I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up.
