Tell us a little bit about you, and how you got started!
I have been a makeup artist for 11 years. I have always loved all things beauty since I saw my mom get her makeup done professionally when I was in high school. Then I was hooked! I wanted to learn as much as I could from the artist so I could practice on myself. Eventually I started doing makeup for friends and family. I enjoyed it so much that I finally decided to pursue makeup artistry professionally. I booked my first runway show and the rest is history!
What makes your business unique?
What makes my business unique is that my passion is about enhancing the inner beauty of all women. Most of the time when we look our best, we feel our best. I want every client to walk away feeling seen, valued and confident in their beauty. I offer an array of services for every woman at every stage of their life.
What do you enjoy most about working in the wedding industry?
What I enjoy most about working in the wedding industry is meeting brides and creating their look for their big day. Brides are all so unique. One bride may want an all pink themed look, whereas one may want a soft glam, but it all compliments the bride and brings her vision to life.
What is your favorite part of working with couples?
I think one of my favorite parts about working with couples is the reactions to the final look. Watching a bride see herself for the first time fully made up is priceless. It’s their chance to look and feel their most beautiful on one of the biggest days of their life. Then seeing the groom react to seeing his bride or hearing from a groom “My wife looks so beautiful. I love it!” It’s very rewarding!
One piece of advice for couples?
My advice to couples would be to communicate often and in a way that honors yourself and your spouse to maintain a healthy loving relationship.
Childhood career aspiration?
After seeing a fascinating segment about a neurologist performing a life changing surgery, I declared I would be a neurologist to save lives and help others in some capacity.
Any fun facts or hidden talents?
A fun fact about me is that I used to be a college professor. For many years I taught college students in the medical field. It has surprisingly come in handy as a makeup artist because I provide makeup lessons to those looking to learn how to perfect their makeup routine.
