Tell us a little bit about your company, and how you got started!
Grand Central Party Rental started 25 years ago. The owner and his wife were planning an event and unfortunately, had a poor experience with a rental company. It was then they thought, “we could do so much better,” and that is when it all started! We provide tents, tables, chairs, linens, place settings and even dance floors
What makes your business unique?
It’s a fact that Grand Central is still locally owned and operated. Grand Central Party Rental is a family business that not only values customers and relationships, but their employee’s too! Many of our employees have worked with us for quite some time. Our sales team alone has over 40 years combined here at Grand Central.
What do you enjoy most about working in the wedding industry?
One of my favorite things about the wedding industry is the diversity and style of weddings. For years, weddings were all the same. Now, there is so much creativity in every wedding. Each wedding can truly be unique and personal to each couple.
What is your favorite part of working with couples?
My favorite part is that “aah” moment when you’re talking with a bride and groom, and you can give them ideas to help them personalize the big day. In most cases, the couple have no idea what they are getting into. When you assist them in the planning process with design and help them create a unique look, the couple appreciate the weight being taken from their shoulders. Believe it or not, we are event planners too!
One piece of advice for couples?
That’s easy. Communicate and listen to your team. Your wedding planner and your vendors are here to make your wedding day run smoothly. So many brides become overwhelmed planning the wedding. Communicate with us, work together to create a plan and let your team handle the stress so that you can enjoy your big day!
Any fun facts?
Grand Central Party Rental is more than a wedding rental company. Although most of our clients are weddings, we provide rentals for corporate events and festivals. We work with the Nashville Convention Center and Visitor’s Bureau to provide tents, tables and chairs for July 4th and New Year’s Eve. We also work with PRIDE and Oktoberfest every year!
