We were so intrigued, that we asked Whitney to tell us her story of becoming a Wedding Singer.
Tell us a little bit about you, and how you got started!
I am singer, song writer & vocal coach. I grew up singing at church & performing in school jazz band, choir, musicals, talent shows, basically all of the things! I went to college for Vocal Performance & began teaching voice in 2011. I recorded my first EP the following year. I have been performing at weddings since I was 18 years old, and it is still one of my favorite ways to share my voice.
What services do you offer and/or what do you specialize in?
I typically perform ceremony music. I do offer reception music, but the vibe is more acoustic & simpler (mostly jazz music). I specialize in writing weddings songs and match the style of the song to each specific couple.
How did you get started in weddings?
I started with friends and family asking me to sing for their weddings. I began writing songs for my brothers when they started getting married. I even wrote one for my husband at our wedding.
What makes your business unique?
I’m a vocalist that can sing many different styles of music, and happy to help you find your perfect ceremony music! Along with writing you a beautiful love story that will capture your special day forever in song.
What is your favorite part of working with couples?
I absolutely love hearing how couples first met! Everybody has a unique & incredible love story to share.
One piece of advice for couples?
Never stop communicating, and always share the good, bad, & the ugly.
