MaryKate and Alvin’s wedding at Sandy Creek Farms was a delightful blend of whimsy and elegance, showcasing their love for Disney and the fairytale Tangled. The couple’s passion for the theme was evident in every detail, from the playful pins featuring beloved characters Rapunzel and Flynn Rider to the striking turquoise worn by the bridal party. MaryKate looked stunning in a modern-day princess ball gown, complete with a sparkling tiara reminiscent of Rapunzel’s crown. At the same time, Alvin channeled Flynn Rider’s charm with a playful touch to his attire, adding a Disney pin. Choreographed by Curtsy Ballroom, the couple’s first dance was a magical highlight of the day. Surrounded by their loved ones, MaryKate and Alvin shared a day filled with love, laughter, and the promise of their very own happily ever after.

Tell us about your Love Story!

Alvin and I met when we were about 19 years old through a mutual friend, but we didn’t start dating until we were around 21. After he found out I had broken up with my previous boyfriend, he wasted no time asking me for a date. He was the first person ever to take me on a proper, more traditional date, where he picked me up from my house and took me to all kinds of surprise activities. I remember being so nervous about what I would wear and ended up in a shirt that matched perfectly with his, completely unplanned. We still have those outfits and used them for our save-the-date photos.

Tell us about your engagement!

For our engagement, Alvin took me to The Bahamas, where his mother and family are from, and I met many of his extended family. It was both our first time being there and our fourth anniversary. He set up a “Marry “Me” sign on the beach with a rose aisle and asked me to marry him with the most beautiful ring I have ever seen.

Tell us about your dress!

My dress is from Lavender Park Bridal in Clarksville. I had searched all weekend for a dress in Nashville to find that the boutique 20 minutes from my house had the dress I had been looking for. I knew I wanted a very large ball gown and had told many shops that I wanted a dress to make Cinderella jealous, and this boutique delivered. This was the first dress that my mom cried when I put it on. It was also the first dress that got me to come to tears; after I had put it on and could see the beautiful beading, when it hit the sunlight, it would just shimmer, and it had the perfect amount of glitter ideal amount of, beading it was everything I was looking for.

What was your vision for your wedding?

The theme of our wedding was originally just blue and silver; however, I am a huge Disney fan and wanted small aspects of Disney to be thrown throughout the wedding. I got a little carried away and ended up having a Disney and blue-themed wedding. For my bachelorette party, we went to Disneyland in California. I bought two Disney pins, one for my dress and one for his lapel. They were Rapunzel and Flynn Rider because I see them as our Disney couple based on our personalities matching, and we watched the movie Tangled on Valentine’s Day three times in a row. After I had had a bad week at work and found out they had taken the movie off Netflix, he went to the store and bought it on DVD so we could watch it on Valentine’s Day together.

Tell us about your day.

On our wedding day, I wanted to do an exit different from what I had typically seen, so I had the wedding party lineup on a pier, and our exit was us jumping into the lake. That was probably my favorite part of the wedding, and I would have spent the entire time with all of us in the pond. I also had my wedding party jump in, and some of the guests did as well. Whoever wanted to jump into the lake was free to join.

We also had a beer boy and liquor lady instead of a flower girl and ring bearer because I wanted to shy away from the traditional. Another fun thing was that instead of a money dance, we had a wager, for whoever could raise more money via bride or groom would get to choose the loser’s tattoo. My husband lost that wager and has already gotten a new tattoo.

First Dance
From Morgan, Curtsy Ballroom

MaryKate and Alvin’s wedding was a true fairytale, filled with magic and romance at every turn. As the evening sky shimmered above them, the couple took to the dance floor, perfectly complementing their enchanting day with a graceful and mesmerizing performance choreographed by Morgan Mizell, founder of Curtsy Ballroom. Having purchased Curtsy Ballroom’s 5-lesson package, the couple moved effortlessly to the soft, dreamlike melody of Ruth B.’s “Dandelions.” Alvin lifted and dipped MaryKate with ease, their movements flowing in perfect harmony. “The lifts add that wow factor that no one expects!” said MaryKate. The love between them radiated with each step, making their dance as unforgettable as the wedding itself.

Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Singleton!
