Julia and Dru celebrated their dream wedding with a heartfelt dance they mastered from the amazing Curtsy Ballroom!
Morgan from Curtsy Ballroom told us all about the process of turning this couple’s vision into a reality!
Julia and Dru wanted a dreamy and romantic waltz to “I can’t help falling in love with you” by Kacey Musgraves. Julia is wearing a ball gown, so my intention was to create as much volume in her dress as possible. After seeing their dynamic, I decided to create moments of closeness and privacy contrasted with big movements meant to wow their guests! It was a great balance between intimate and performative.
Julia and Dru met with me for a couple of months, generally once a week or two, in order to get the choreography since their wedding was so soon. I pride myself on being able to still create something beautiful and elegant, even on limited time. So while they weren’t doing the most difficult moves, it was captured beautifully by both the photographer and videographer! I’m a big believer in the introduction setting the tone for the rest of the dance. Their introduction was romantic and has an intimate feeling, and that translated throughout the rest of their dance!
I felt like giving them the basics mixed with those beautiful dips you see Julia doing made for the absolute perfect dance. They were a pleasure to work with!
If you are looking to make your first dance and your wedding reception truly unforgettable, you should consider taking dance lessons from Curtsy Ballroom! It’s also a great bonding experience for you and your spouse before your big day.
