From Bride Jayde
How Did You Meet?
We met at Tin Roof in midtown Nashville on an NFL Sunday & were inseparable after that. Although we briefly started mentioning marriage about three to four months in, Tyler proposed nine months later at Centennial Park.
Tell Us About Your Engagement
I knew Tyler had the ring, but I didn’t know when or how he would do it. I always assumed he would do it on a weekend, but when he started acting off about our Wednesday night date night, I had a feeling it might happen. He took me to walk in Centennial Park “before dinner,” but proposed in front of the flower bed by the water. Even though I was pretty sure he would propose a couple of hours before, it was still a shock to see him down on one knee when I turned around. His sister, Gracie, and our friends, Kim and Sunny, were hiding in the bushes to capture it. When we got home, he had my favorite sushi delivered with champagne, wine, candles, and rose petals set up everywhere.
Tell Us About Your Vision
I wanted my wedding to have a light and airy look with a fun and easy-breezy vibe. I found the venue back in 2019 when I was single and in college, and held on to it in my camera roll for years. It just happened to be 45 minutes away from Nashville. My Mom, Kristi, helped me plan the majority of the wedding. Of course, wedding planning was stressful, but we had the most amazing venue, coordinator & vendors that made the day so easy for us. We wish we could do it again.
Lessons Learned While Wedding Planning
As a very type-A person, I found myself wanting it just to be done, while my mom wanted it to be exactly what I wanted. I’m so glad she pushed me to care about certain things, because it can really make or break your day. I wish I had worked on the very small details you don’t think of when looking at the big picture much sooner, because they add up over time.
Do You Have Any Advice for Couples Planning Their Wedding?
And my biggest advice is don’t blink because your wedding day goes by so fast! Take a moment in every moment to take it in and enjoy!
Tell Us About Your Day
I started the day at 9 am with my 12 bridesmaids, my Mom, and my MIL. We got ready, drank champagne & made Tik Toks until it was time for photos. My stomach was in knots all day until my first look with Tyler, and everything after that felt like a breeze! I shared a special first look with my dad and did a sweet private vow exchange with Tyler. The ceremony was short and sweet, just like we asked. One of my favorite moments was after we walked out of the ceremony, our bridal party began yelling and celebrating with us, and four of our groomsmen picked us up on their shoulders to celebrate.
Tell Us About the Reception
Our wedding party did the cheesy announcement intros and killed it. We shared a sweet first dance together. I danced with my dad, and then he danced with his mom. I also got to surprise my mom, who helped plan the whole wedding, with a bouquet dedication and a short dance. The reception was the most fun, dancing with all our friends and family, until they sent us off with a sparkler exit!
The vibe was a VIBE! The ENERGY was high, our DJ was electric, and we had the light-up glow sticks everywhere on the dance floor. The majority of our guests stayed and danced until the night was over.
