The escort table at this year’s Happily Connected Wedding Showcase was more than a functional stop on the way into the Design Gallery; it became a vibrant, music‑inspired welcome moment that set the tone for the entire experience. Designed by Sister Events and thoughtfully styled to honor the National Museum of African American Music, a space dedicated to preserving and celebrating the legacy of African American music. The design blended creativity, nostalgia, and Nashville’s unmistakable musical heartbeat into one cohesive, high‑impact display.

A Music‑Lover’s First Impression
Set against the iconic backdrop of the National Museum of African American Music, the S‑shaped escort table immediately drew guests in. A row of colorful vinyl records lined the sleek black linens, each one serving as a table assignment. This playful twist on a traditional seating chart felt perfectly at home in the museum, offering a nod to its legacy while giving guests something unexpected and fun to interact with.

Metallic accents and tiny disco‑ball details added sparkle and movement, catching the light and creating a visual rhythm that felt both modern and nostalgic.

Why an Escort Table Matters
The escort table is often the first thing guests see when they arrive at a wedding reception. Escort cards and seating charts are your guests’ guide to the party! Each guest’s name and table number are listed for easy reference, helping them find their designated seat before joining the celebration. A well-designed seating chart does more than guide guests to their tables, but also sets the tone for the event.
A well‑designed escort display:
  • Creates a smooth, welcoming flow into the event
  • Helps guests feel oriented and cared for
  • Reinforces the theme or story of the celebration
  • Offers a natural photo moment
  • Turns a logistical necessity into a memorable experience
This escort table did all of that effortlessly.

Vintage Vibes, Elevated
A vintage-style microphone and a classic wooden record player were placed on the table, emphasizing the musical theme in a way that felt authentic to the museum’s setting. These weren’t just decorative items; they served as storytelling elements that linked the display to the space’s cultural significance.

Hand‑Lettered Details That Made It Personal

A charming element was the hand‑lettered vinyl record displayed in the vintage record player. Chloe & Co. wrote a heartfelt message in her signature calligraphy directly on the record. This small detail made a big impression, adding a personal touch that turned a beautiful design into something meaningful.

Rentals Set the Stage

Rentals from Grand Tents & Events set the stage for Sister Events’ vision. Their items helped create a thoughtful, balanced escort table display showing that the right rentals not only support a design but also enhance it.
