Modern, Moody, Stunning, Breathtaking, are a few words (there are so many) that describe the awesome transformation Nashville area vendors made to the Hermitage Golf Course on February 18, 2024, for our wedding showcase. Everything was Absolutely Gorgeous! But don’t take our word for it, keep scrolling to see for yourself!
The Showcase
First, we want to say thank you to everyone who attended, showcased, modeled, and volunteered at the 2024 Happily Connected Wedding Showcase!
The Happily Connected Wedding Showcase is not your typical wedding show! The Happily Connected Wedding showcase is a modern cocktail-style fun alternative to traditional large-scale style wedding shows. Instead of rows of booths, amazing Nashville Area Vendors work together to create a unique wedding experience by setting up the venue like an actual wedding so couples can envision what their wedding could look like. Attendees were able to chat with talented local vendors about their own wedding and be inspired by the design gallery. They also were able to enjoy music, food, and drinks.
The Design Gallery
Seven design teams made up of Talented Nashville Area Vendors showcased their work by creating seven different tablescapes, a ceremony set up, and a lounge area in our Design Gallery to give couples inspiration for their own wedding. The tablescape designs were Modern/Moody, Fairytale, Celestial, Art Deco/Glam, Romantic, Boho, and Classic/Traditional. We loved seeing how each team interpreted the color palette in their design!
The showcase, design gallery, and models were captured beautifully by three Amazing Nashville Area photographers and one videographer: AshleyMarlenis Photography, Knotting Hill Photography, Rebecca Vaughan Photography, and John Mark Art Photo/Video.
Registration Table Design
When trying to design the registration table I knew that I had to connect with the other vendors, so the overall theme matched with everyone else. This was important because I knew the registration table and entryway were the other designers’ starting points. I took from the moody romantic theme that was going on and added my own twist a vintage twist! Everything that describes me and my business is a sweet vintage flare! Kathy from Romance and Rust was such a great help she pulled out her vintage decor and let my creativity shine through! Celeste from Wild Woods Floral Design provided black and gold sola wood roses since love never dies and I wanted a timeless look. I also used some vivid flowers from Peyton from 248 co. which made my display pop. They all truly helped bring my design to life

Escort Table Design
The dynamic duo of Sister Events designed the perfect escort table for the Design Gallery which not only guided guests seamlessly but also added a touch of sophistication to the event. From the charming Farm table adorned with goldenrod runners provided by Grand Central Party Rental to the chic catalog-style drawers creatively displaying business cards, every detail exudes a fresh and updated charm. The jars from Romance and Rust elegantly showcase the Design Gallery vendors, while the beautiful organic floral arrangements from Perk & Petal bring a burst of color to complement the entire setting. To add a modern flair, black-rimmed, square glass candle holders provide a touch of contemporary elegance, creating the perfect ambiance.

Dark & Moody Sweetheart Table Design
From Kathy of Romance & Rust Weddings and Events
In the realm of wedding aesthetics, the allure of darkness has carved out its own niche, captivating couples who seek to defy tradition and embrace the unconventional. Our dark and moody sweetheart table is a mesmerizing blend of rich colors, opulent textures, and a hint of edgy elegance. Imagine stepping into a romantic enclave, where the flicker of candlelight dances against the backdrop of a roaring fireplace. The air is heavy with the scent of dark fruits, adding a sensual layer to the ambiance. Your eyes are drawn to the centerpiece of the room – the sweetheart table, adorned in rich hues of dark green velvet, burgundy, and gold. The lush velvet cascades elegantly, enveloping the table in a cloak of luxury. A brass compote with beautiful blooms in deep reds and purples, as well as luscious fruits, creates a striking contrast against the velvety backdrop, while gold accents add a touch of opulence and warmth. Brass candlesticks with burgundy candles are enclosed in glass sleeves and placed on top of a vintage gold framed vanity mirror. The places are set with gold scalloped chargers, modern black plates, black silverware with gold accents, vintage gold-rimmed glasses, and bold black wine glasses. Dark terracotta velvet napkins drape elegantly from underneath the plate. A delicate linen menu is displayed on the plate and a calligraphy place card made of torn handmade paper is tied with dark green velvet ribbon on a pearl-adorned pear to complete the place setting. An antique fruit-embellished gold mirror is placed on the floor in front of the table. A black three-tiered stand overflowing with lush blooms and fruits, as well as flickering candlelight, are reflected in the mirror. Rose petals are scattered on the floor. On the fireplace mantle, a dark mirror reflects the candlelight from the brass candlesticks with burgundy taper candles, and rich florals with red hanging Amaranthus, creating a dramatic and elegant backdrop. Glass cylinders with floating candles add additional warmth and cast enchanting shadows. It’s not just the decor that sets this sweetheart table apart, it’s the couple at the center of it all. The bride, a vision of modern sophistication, stuns in an edgy short black wedding dress that defies tradition and exudes confidence. Her groom, equally stylish, cuts a dashing figure in a burgundy suit paired with a sleek black shirt, perfectly completing the aesthetic of the evening. Together they epitomize the essence of contemporary romance – bold, unconventional, and utterly captivating.
From Payton of 248 Co.
Our vision was rich, dark and moody with a touch of fruits and vegetables. The color palette was jewel tones of deep reds and purples to accentuate the velvet dark green linen. There were five different colored roses, about 100 in total were used. Two sizes of red hanging Amaranthus were used to create the draping effect. Lavender spider mums and dark purple pom buttons were sprinkled throughout. Agonis and eucalyptus were the greeneries used in these beautiful arrangements. To add to the dramatic feel, brass vessels along with a black cascading stand were used. In addition, the fruits and vegetables used include a variety of grapes, pears, beets, apples, raspberries, blackberries, bleached strawberries, and pomegranates. As if that wasn’t enough, we decided to adorn the pear place card holders for the place setting with cream pearls and the grapes with purple pearls, almost mimicking dew! This touch elevated the look and feel. We can’t forget the mix of tea lights, burgundy taper candles and floating candles used. Everything came together in harmony to create a romantic foraged feel.
From Sammi of St. Croix Designs
Inspired by the floral paintings of the Dutch masters, the invitation suite features handmade paper, a custom wax seal, and delicate calligraphy. The suite is tied together with handmade chiffon ribbon and a vellum wrap to compliment the floral liner. We chose a delicate linen menu to compliment the invitation and completed the place setting with a calligraphy place card, tied with velvet ribbon on a pearl-adorned pear. Velvet, handmade paper, and chiffon ribbon were woven throughout the invitations and table design to create a blend of rich textures, complimenting the moody florals.

Fairytale Table Design
Our Fairytale design was inspired by the origins of your childhood fairytale inspirations, books! But, being Wild Woods, we wanted to think a little outside the box. Displayed on a Champagne(“Majestic Tan”) table linen, we combined the moody color palette from Grimm’s and the whimsical theme from vintage Alice in Wonderland, to create a very “curious” display of fantasy. We wanted to bring “Your Story” directly from the pages of two lives, blooming and entangling into one romantic novel. You’ll find Willow Vines, literally winding and growing through the pages of the two stories, delicately wrapped in a foundation of soft Navy Crinkle-Cloth. Using a multi-flora assortment of our signature Sola Wood Flowers in a rich custom color palette to elevate the overall feel, the branches are adorned with Dark Forest Green Preserved Leather Fern, Gold Leaf, curled/wilted Black Palm Leaves and Amaranth, and dripping with Glittered Navy Amaranth. The entire piece is floating on a bed of Black/Jade feathers and flowing layers of colored Silks, Satins, and velvet. We invoked the feeling of falling further into the “Rabbit Hole” by adding chained Timepieces(Pocket Watches), antique door knobs, skeleton keys, off-center dinner plate settings, the Queen’s crown, Alice in Wonderland playing cards, gold tea lights, bright colored jewel stones sprinkled randomly around the table, “Drink Me” bottles, and Gold Tasseled Bookmarks for the name cards. We matched the book bindings using “Majestic Navy” linen napkins and completed the look with “White Lily Coupe”/”Vanessa Gold” dinner plates, Hobbled glass goblets, “Parisian Gold” utensils, and “Cross-backed Cushioned” chairs. Of course, no fairytale can come to life without the guidance of the Who/When/Where/Why/How details of the enchanted “Eat/Drink Me” menus, photo framed “Chapter 1” table number, and matching vintage Alice in Wonderland invitations in a timeless Navy/Dusty Navy font.

Celestial Table Design
From Sister Events
Our vision for the Celestial Table was to create an ambiance that would transport guests to the Milky Way. To achieve this, we used deep blues, purples, and black with metallic elements to replicate the galaxy’s sparkle.
Carmela’s Floral Company’s beautiful table arrangement featured an elegant linear vase with various shades of blue and purple flowers, adding the perfect pop of color to the design.
To continue the celestial theme, we opted for organic stationery, using a glass orb on a moon hook from Romance & Rust for the table number and blue agate stones for the table menu. Each guest received their own jar of stars place cards to add some sparkle to their place setting.
We created a Milky Way effect across the table by placing a deep blue velvet table runner and a black flowy runner with hidden twinkle lights. Romance & Rust also provided blue mercury glass tea lights and a glass moon orb to add more stars to our table.
For the dinnerware, we kept it dark and organic with black and marble plates, black flatware, and smoke glassware. We added ice blue napkins shooting from our jar of star’s name cards to bring a little light to the place setting. Finally, we finished off the look with Grand Central’s ghost chairs.

Art Deco/Glam Table Design
The “Golden Era” of Hollywood, from the 1920s to 1950s, has been the epitome of glamour and the source of inspiration for fashion, hair, makeup, and interiors for over a century. Draped velvets and silks, symmetrical geometry, and streamlines accented with sparkling diamonds, pearls, and feathers instantly take us back to the swingin’ days of Flappers, Dandy, and Jazz! We also used some antique bourbon bottles, glass ashtrays, and wine decanters to hone in on the forbidden prohibition age…In other words, we added a little extra “Speakeasy fun”! Rich colors usually accompany this era, but we wanted to modernize the look by making all the Sola Wood Flowers white and using a new trendy flower design called “reflexed” roses. The airy color palette of Golds, Light and Dark Mauves, hues of Aubergine, Shimmer Whites, and Champagne give an overall feel of happiness and the use of the mirrors and glass lets the newly hitched couple look clearly to a beautiful future together! It’s simply “The Bee’s Knees”!
The Stationery details designed by St. Croix Designs recall the Great Gatsby era. The top of the invitation features a striking square shape and geometric background, tying it in with the dinnerware. A unique monogram, envelope liner, place cards, and table numbers. Classic gold tassels were incorporated into the place cards which were delicately placed across each cocktail glass. The menus feature the same geometric design and monogram as the invitation and closely mirror the table numbers, printed in rich aubergine.

Romantic Table Design
From Sister Events
Drawing inspiration from a moody, “old world” library, Sister Events created this stunning Romantic Table Design. Maroon and Light Pink Runners from Grand Central billowed beneath an ornate mirror, topped with vintage books and candlelight provided by Romance & Rust made the perfect romantic setting below a gold Harlow topped with the most beautiful floral arrangement by Perk & Petal. Hunter Green napkins shaped like roses, Gold beaded glass chargers, Vanessa Gold China, and Parisian Gold flatware made the perfect setting for the vintage distressed menu with gold calligraphy by St. Croix Designs. Scrolled place cards also by St. Croix Designs daintily draped on champagne flutes completed this elegant look.
Andrew & Grant were the PERFECT couple to model for this design. Their love for each other truly showed and their navy suits from State & Liberty were the icing on the cake! And can we talk about the STUNNING lapel-adorned boutonniere designed by Perk & Petal?!

Boho Table Design
Imagine a boho modern tablescape where elements of nature intertwine effortlessly with contemporary elegance. The table is adorned with touches of gold, green, and burgundy, creating a harmonious blend that exudes warmth and sophistication. A lush greenery table runner cascades down the center, dotted with delicate pampas grass and eucalyptus leaves, adding a natural, organic feel. Nestled among the foliage are small golden votive candles, their flickering flames casting a soft, romantic glow. Golden chargers serve as the foundation for each place setting, topped with sleek white plates. Crisp sage green linen napkins, add a pop of rich color and texture. Together, these elements create a relaxed yet refined ambiance, inviting guests to linger and savor the beauty of the moment.

Classic/Traditional Table Design
Immerse yourself in the timeless elegance of a classic traditional wedding tablescape, where touches of gold, sage, and burgundy intertwine to create an atmosphere of refined beauty. The table is draped with a luxurious ivory tablecloth, exuding a sense of sophistication and grace. Wax seals featuring each guest’s menu choice adorned the dinner menu which were hand-tied with a personalized satin green ribbon place card. Delicate bone China place settings, framed by a golden charger plate along with crisp burgundy linen napkins, tucked neatly in the stemless glassware add a touch of pristine elegance to each setting. Nestled amidst the China and linens are delicate burgundy floral arrangements, composed of lush roses and fresh fruit, their rich hues adding a sense of romance and warmth to the tableau. Golden candlesticks adorned with flickering ivory candles cast a soft, ethereal glow, illuminating the scene with an aura of enchantment. Together, these elements come together to create a classic and timeless tablescape, evoking a sense of tradition and beauty that will be cherished for years to come.

The Ceremony
From Romance & Rust Weddings and Events
Modern + Moody Ceremony When it comes to crafting a memorable wedding ceremony, every detail counts. Our modern black diamond backdrop is making waves in the wedding world. This striking backdrop sets the stage for a sophisticated and romantic atmosphere, perfect for exchanging vows and creating lasting memories. At the heart of this setup are rich florals in a palette of deep maroon, blues, shades of purple, light blue, and deep pink. These lush blooms add depth and dimension to the backdrop, creating a visually stunning focal point that will leave guests in awe. To further enhance the ambiance, candles, and florals line the aisle, casting a warm and romantic glow as you make your way to the altar. The soft flicker of candlelight combined with the fragrant scent of fresh flowers creates an enchanting atmosphere that is sure to captivate all who attend. As guests enter the ceremony space, they are greeted by assorted black lanterns adorned with florals, marking the beginning of the aisle. These elegant lanterns add a touch of sophistication while tying in seamlessly with the overall theme. At the start of the aisle, a calligraphy sign hanging from a gold frame displays the wedding vows, serving as a poignant reminder of the commitment being made. Sarah & Braden
From Caitlin with Braids and Blush
I had the privilege of dolling up Sarah, one of the stunning models, for Happily Connected’s 2024 bridal showcase. For her look, we wanted to enhance her natural beauty. We were able to accomplish this by using Quidad and Schwartzkopf curl creams and gels to define her natural curl and slick her hair back into the beautiful high bun. For her makeup, I used a light layer of Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation to even out her skin tone, and One Size and Hourglass blush and highlighters to bring dimension to her cheeks. I used the Natasha Denona “I Need a Nude” eyeshadow palette and Kiss “High Bun” false lashes to draw more attention to her eyes. Lastly, we created a custom four-step lip color that included a One Size lip liner and a Fenty Beauty lip gloss. By taking these steps, we were able to create a seamlessly cohesive look that complimented her dress and her best features, while still allowing her to look and feel like herself.
Sarah wore her wedding gown which fit perfectly with the Classic and Boho styled tables! Braden wore an Athletic Fit Stretch Heathered Navy suit and the “Springer” Solid White Classic fit shirt from State and Liberty. His classic look was completed with a navy silk tie with white dots and a white pocket square.

Eboni and Chevy
From Mystique Makeup
For the wedding showcase, each bride was given a themed tablescape and wedding gown to compliment that particular style of bridal decor and wear. My model, Eboni had the Moody Sweetheart table decor with beautiful deep plums, dark teal, and black. She wore both a black and white wedding dress. For her look, I decided to go with a take on an old Hollywood vampy look. For her eyes, I went with a classic Marilyn Monroe-inspired eye with soft browns in the crease and a lighter color on the lid with the signature winged eyeliner. Her lips were where we wanted to give a bit of drama. Instead of a simple classic red. We went with a black and burgundy lip liner and red lip blended together to give a Moody deep wine red to the lip. It complimented her black wedding dress without being too dark. Just enough to keep in line with the theme and still have a bridal look. It went perfectly with both her black and white gown.
From Go Gorgeous
We created a stunning romantic hairstyle that perfectly complemented Eboni’s overall aesthetic and set the tone for a memorable and enchanting wedding day. We pulled back a portion of the hair at the crown of the head with twists and braids, while allowing the rest of the hair to cascade down in loose curls.
Eboni looked stunningly modern and sophisticated in an edgy short black dress, which she later changed into a full-length traditional white lace gown, both designed by Romantic Creations Bridal. Chevy’s State and Liberty Athletic Fit Stretch Heathered Maroon suit complimented both her styles perfectly, and he paired it with a sleek “Van” solid black shirt. Together, they epitomize the essence of contemporary romance – bold, unconventional, and utterly captivating.

Regan
From Go Gorgeous
We wanted to blend classic elements with contemporary touches, creating a look that is both timeless and on-trend for her wedding day. We aimed for a flawless complexion with a focus on natural-looking skin that was radiant and glowing, and styled her hair in a soft finger wave adding to that classic beauty look.
Regan wore several vintage-inspired gowns designed by Romantic Creations Bridal which complimted both the Art Deco/Glam and Fairytale-inspired tables.

Wedding Cake and Dessert
Wedding Cake
The design of the cake is what I call brooding romantic. The design incorporates rich jewel tones in the buttercream frosting as well as through the use of fresh fruit and greenery. The cake also has gold leaf accents for a touch of sparkle.
The wedding cake table was designed to complement the Sweetheart Table. The dark wood table had a lush green velvet cloth that draped to the side, cascading elegantly. The cake was displayed on an embossed gold cake stand. A pair of brass candlesticks provided flickering light. The gold “twig” handled cake knife and server rested on top of a gold-rimmed glass cake plate. Gold mercury glass votives surrounded the cake stand.
Decor items provided by Romance & Rust: Dark wood round table, green velvet cloth, gold round cake stand, brass candlesticks with faux candles, cake plate, cake knife and server, gold mercury glass votives with faux tea lights.
The Groom’s Cake
The groom’s cake was made for the groom who is an avid golfer. The cake was a custom chocolate bourbon cake filled with browned butter bourbon buttercream and decorated to reflect a passion for golf while incorporating details of the wedding venue. At EastLeigh Desserts, each groom’s cake is a unique creation and a wonderful way to merge the couple’s styles at the wedding.
