Welcome to another Honeymoon Destination Blog! Today, I’m going to focus on St. Lucia. I recently had the opportunity to visit St. Lucia, and it’s so beautiful! There are so many things to do and see, making it the perfect location for a Honeymoon.

Some St. Lucia Facts
St. Lucia observes the Atlantic Standard Time zone all year. They do not participate in daylight savings, so before you travel, make sure you know how many hours away your home and your vacation destination are from each other.
St. Lucia is home to almost 165,000 people! The official language spoken is English, but Saint Lucian Creole is a French-based Creole language that is also widely spoken in St. Lucia. The currency used is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar; however, the US dollar is also widely accepted (so there is no need to exchange your money before or during your arrival). Keep in mind, however, that if you do pay with US dollars, you will most likely receive Eastern Caribbean dollars for your change.
You will need a valid passport (valid for the duration of your stay), 1 page required for entry stamp, and the new online customs and immigration form. You may find that form HERE. You cannot access the form more than 72 hours before travel. If you do not get this completed before you arrive, they will hand out the paper versions on the plane. I do advise you to go ahead and do this prior to arriving at the airport. It was very easy and made entering St. Lucia through customs and immigration a breeze! You do not have to pay for this form, so if you are asked for a CC, you are not on the right website.

Best Times To Travel, Where To Stay, and What To Do
Best Time To Travel
St. Lucia has warm weather all year round, but the BEST time to travel to this beautiful Island is between February and May. This is when the weather is the driest. The average highs range from 81 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit to 85 at sea level, though it can be significantly cooler up in the mountains. June through November is considered the official Hurricane season, but they tend to see more activity from August to October. October is also the rainiest month. December through March is peak season, so pricing will be higher, and availability will be lower.

Where To Stay
There are many resorts in St. Lucia, many of which are all-inclusive. All-inclusive means that all your food, drinks, shows, non-motorized land, and water sports are all included in the price. If you’ve read my Honeymoon Guide for Jamaica, you’ll already know that my favorite All-Inclusive Resorts are the Sandals Properties. There are 3 Sandals Resorts in St. Lucia, all within about 15 miles of each other. The best thing about staying at one of these properties is that you can “stay at one and play at three”. That’s right, you have resort exchange privileges to all THREE Sandals Resorts! This opens up so many more opportunities for dining and entertainment. You can check them out HERE

What To Do
There is so much to do on this beautiful Island. You could zipline or take an ATV through the Jungle! Hike to see some amazing waterfalls. St. Lucia is known for making chocolate, so you can take an excursion where you’ll make your very own chocolate bar! Take a Catamaran cruise to see the Island from a different angle and view the magnificent Pitons or snorkel in the crystal blue water. We did a combination tour that included a mud bath in the Sulphur Springs. The volcanic mud is packed with minerals that will leave you feeling younger and more vibrant! Just be sure to wear a bathing suit you aren’t super fond of, as it will have that sulfur smell for a while afterward! Check out all of the options HERE on the Island Routes website.

How Long Should I Stay
The “million dollar question” is how long should you stay? I would suggest that staying the minimum of 5 nights is good, but if your schedule allows, I would recommend 7 nights to be the magic number. If you are traveling from a destination that requires you to make a connecting flight, you’ll have a pretty long travel day on the very first night of your trip. Travel time to the Island could be upwards of 6 to 7 hours, and then once you get to the Island (depending on where your resort is located and what type of transfer you pick), you could have another 2 to 3 hours before you are unpacking in your room. Having a full 4 to 6 nights that aren’t your travel days really allows you to take that time to enjoy your resort, enjoy each other, and enjoy the Island.
