Nestled among the rolling hills of Tennessee, Drakewood Farm set the perfect stage for John and Amalie’s enchanting wedding day. With its historic charm and lush outdoor spaces, the venue provided a breathtaking backdrop for a celebration that was as elegant as it was heartfelt.
The ceremony took place under a floral-adorned arch in the midst of the farm’s picturesque woodland setting. A pathway lined with rustic wooden benches led to the stunning floral arch, which overflowed with soft pastel roses, hydrangeas, and delicate greenery. String lights twinkled overhead, casting a magical glow as the couple exchanged vows in front of their loved ones.
Amalie looked radiant in an off-the-shoulder lace gown with delicate sleeves, embodying timeless romance. Her hair cascaded in soft waves, and her natural makeup highlighted her luminous beauty.

Amalie was such a sweet bride. She really cared about everyone around her and made sure her vendors were taken care of.
We did not do a trial for makeup, just hairstyling. We tried a few different hairstyles at her trial and ultimately decided to keep all of her hair down, as that is how Amalie feels the most comfortable and confident. Amalie wanted her hair styled in a very classic/Hollywood way. I kept the curls very loose and bouncy and added a lot of volume as well. My HOT Tools 1.25-inch curling iron worked wonders for this! But the key to achieving a hairstyle like this is all in the prep. I have found that if the hair is not prepped the correct way, it is guaranteed that the style will not hold more than a few hours. So, I made sure to add plenty of time to our schedule to complete the proper prep work!
For her makeup, Amalie wanted it to stay very natural. At work, she hardly wears any makeup. She knew she wouldn’t feel comfortable with a traditional full face of bridal makeup. Her inspiration was a more traditional Korean style of makeup. Very light on the skin, with glowy and peachy tones throughout. And that’s exactly what we did! It turned out better than either of us could’ve imagined. Once her skin was well prepped for the makeup, we used Saie Beauty Star glow gel before foundation to give her the glowy base she was looking for. Then, the Haus Labs Pomelo Peach blush was the perfect shade to tie in the peach tones from her eye shadow and lipstick color. I also used Ardell Beauty’s 421 false lashes, cut in half, on her eyes. We were obsessed with them! They looked so beautiful on her eye shape and gave her just enough length and fullness while still looking natural.
Amalie carried a lush bouquet of garden roses, lilacs, and wildflowers in a dreamy palette of blush, lavender, and ivory. John, looking dashing in a navy suit and light blue tie, couldn’t take his eyes off his bride as she made her way down the aisle.
The bridal party’s attire perfectly complemented the soft, romantic aesthetic of the day. Bridesmaids wore a mix of pastel shades and floral-printed dresses, creating an effortlessly elegant look that tied in beautifully with the outdoor setting. The groomsmen, dressed in classic suits, completed the picture of refined yet relaxed charm.
Following the heartfelt ceremony, the celebration continued with a lively reception.
Laughter and joy filled the air as guests dined beneath twinkling lights and danced the night away. Every element of the reception—from the charming tablescapes adorned with delicate blooms to the warm, inviting ambiance—reflected John and Amalie’s love story.
Their wedding at Drakewood Farm was a heartfelt celebration of love and friendship, capped off by a magical sparkler send-off. Surrounded by loved ones, the couple shared a glowing moment, making it the perfect end to an unforgettable day.
