We’re excited to introduce Priscilla, owner of Retrato Photo Booth! After years of dreaming, Priscilla has turned her vision of owning a photo booth company into a stunning reality. Keep reading to learn more about her story and what makes Retrato unique!
Tell us a little bit about you and how you got started!

My name is Priscilla Evans, a proud mama of four and a military wife. For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of owning my own business. I’ve always been fascinated by the fun and excitement that photo booths bring to events. In fact, my very first photo with my husband was taken in a photo booth—on our first date, when we crashed a corporate party! That picture still holds so much meaning for us.
For years, though, I let fear hold me back. Life happened—marriage, children, and the demands of family life made me think my dream of owning a photo booth business was impossible. But every time I attended an event, I couldn’t help but think, “How amazing would it be if I had my own photo booth set up here?” I kept wishing, and then, one day, I decided to stop wishing and take action.
With four kids and a husband who’s often away, it might sound a little crazy—but that’s when Retrato Photo Booth was born. I named my business “Retrato,” which means “photograph” in Tagalog, as a nod to my Filipino heritage. Incorporating my culture into the business was important to me—it makes what I do feel even more personal.
What makes your business unique?
What makes Retrato unique is that everything is completely customized. When people hire me, they aren’t just getting photos; they’re getting a whole experience. I bring energy to every event, adding thoughtful touches to match each theme, and I’m always there in person to make sure everything runs smoothly from start to finish.
What do you enjoy most about working in the wedding industry?
One of my favorite types of events is weddings—I absolutely love love! It’s such a joy to see everyone come together to celebrate two special people. And, of course, I enjoy the fashion too—everyone dressed to the nines, smiling, laughing, and dancing in front of the booth! My favorite moment is when the bride and groom step in front of the camera or onto the 360 platform and let loose—it’s such a fun, unforgettable experience.
One piece of advice for couples?
For couples planning their wedding, my one piece of advice: hire an amazing wedding planner so you can truly enjoy your big day stress-free—and of course, make sure you have a photo booth! Your guests will love it while you’re making your rounds, and later, you’ll get to see all the fun they had through the photos and videos.
Childhood career aspiration?
When I was a child, I dreamed of becoming a dentist or a flight stewardess. Today, I’m neither—but I’m a full-time mama and a photo booth business owner, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Any fun facts or hidden talents?
Fun fact: I was once a contestant on Big Brother in my home country, and I have bilateral cochlear implants—so I can hear every precious sound from my babies.
