#FriendorFriday is one of our favorite blog posts because we get to introduce you to the amazing vendors of the Happily Connected Community! This week, we spoke with Amber & Ashley of Southern Belles & Blooms. Check out their gorgeous florals and read more about this dynamic sister duo!
Tell us a little bit about you, and how you got started!
Ashley and Amber are natural business partners, as real life sisters and best friends. The love affair with blooms started in college, when Amber took floral design classes. Soon after, she started helping out friends and sorority sisters with their weddings. Very shortly, her “hobby” on the side garnered so much business, she asked her older sister Ashley to pitch in -and Southern Belles and Blooms was born.
What services do you offer and/or what do you specialize in?
We offer full service floral needs for weddings, and events. Including all personal flowers, centerpieces, ceremony, on site work, delivery, and set-up.
What makes your business unique?
We like to think we are different because we both work full time jobs, so it is truly a passion of ours. We often say “because we don’t have to rely on this business to feed our families it makes it so much more fun” It also gives us the ability to work with brides budgets to achieve the wedding of their dreams.
What is your favorite part of working with couples?
We love connecting with couples and getting to know them on a personal level.
One piece of advice for couples?
One piece of advice we would give to couples is this: It is so easy to get caught up in this process, and it will be stressful. However, the most important thing is, you are marrying the love of your life.
Childhood career aspiration?
Ashley is fulfilling her lifelong dream as a childhood of being a teacher. Amber wanted to be a social worker.
Coffee, tea, wine/cocktail?
WINE-after a long day of flowers.
Hidden talent?
I can’t think of any hidden talents for either of us 🙂
